TWO new double compilation albums just released!

Sean Brady New CdsH&H Music have just released these two double albums. They'll be available via my online shop soon. You can still buy the original single cd's from the shop. Maybe snap up one or two up now, when they're gone, they're gone! I'm delighted there are still people out there who want to buy my old stuff. THE THATCHER SONG was originally released on Crubeen Records in 1984 with the second version with the current tracks released via Prism Leisure in 1988. It has nigh on all of my underground hit singles from 80's and 90's and all of the lyrics. PLUS you get a free copy of my 'IRISH PUB SONGS' album. The Shamrock & Thistle double album is the original massive selling two albums that I recorded with Archie McPherson.

VikingViking Irish Weeks PosterWelcome to my news and gigs page. It's been a very busy 2010 so far and I recently got back from doing some gigs in New Zealand, great fun. I'm back in Blighty now so look out for some open dates on here soon. My main gigs thesedays are private functions and corporate events but I still do the odd pub gig here and there. My favourite highlight of 2009 gig-wise was a 6 week series of Scandinavian cruise gigs with my band 'The Kilburn Cowboys'. We played on various ships with 'Viking Lines' cruises. It was a real hoot and the gigs were great, with both Finnish and Swedish people showing themselves to be great fans of Irish ballads and music, we probably played 'Whisky in the Jar', 'Molly Malone' and the 'Wild Rover' enough times consecutively over those six weeks, to merit some kind of an entry into the Guinness book of records! We did 42 straight gigs and although it was somewhat exhausting it was a hell of a lot of fun too! I have a few London gigs in the pipeline, as well as a few weddings and private functions in other parts of the country, so I'll keep you updated on all of that as we go along. Keep in touch and thanks for all of the emails and feedback, especially from the people on board the Viking Line gigs, I had a couple written in Finnish which I'll need a translator for! but it's always nice to hear from you anyhow! It's always interesting to make a note of which songs get asked for in different countries and cultures and it was pretty eclectic to say the least! Oddly enough a real favourite was 'It's a long way to Tipperary', which we got asked for several times. It's defo not one you'd play much in either Ireland or the UK. It's quite a controversial and somewhat sad song for some people and for good reason. We got asked for all the favourites such as 'Danny Boy', 'The Fields of Athenry', and lots of songs from the Pogues, Dubliners, Wolfe Tones, Christy Moore, etc. It was also a wonderful experience to play on board our last ship with the iconic Dubliners on the bill. They went down a storm with the Swedish crowd as one would expect. There's only John Sheehan and Barney McKenna left from the original line up but nonetheless they did Irish music and song proud! Hope to see you soon!

FANTASTIC win for Millwall at Wembley and Championship League here we come! As fate would decree it, I had a wedding gig that day!..Groaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan... Ah well, I got there last year against Scunthorpe and acceptance is the key! I have already bought my season ticket for the next campaign and hopefully the Lions can get up there and stay in the Championship and who knows, maybe the Premiership next? Looking forward to playing against the likes of Palace, QPR and the rest of them. It's been a long hard season but lots of fun and excitement along the way. I was lucky enough to get to tons of games home and away. Well done Kenny Jackett and the team! GOOD LUCK NEXT SEASON! See you down the Den for the Hull game!

NEW Release of Sean Brady Song By Susan McCann

Susan McCann released a single version of one of my songs earlier this year. Thanks Susan, if it gets as much airplay on BBC Radio 2 as my last single by you, I'll be a very happy bunny!...STOP PRESS: Great to see the single is getting loads of airplay and listed on lots of Commercial and BBC regional Radio playlists Nationwide!...When I get songs covered it's always a great compliment, getting played on the Radio is icing on the cake.

See Susan's website for full details

De Valera This man of our timesI'm regularly asked for the words of my songs. The main ones asked for are 'De Valera', 'Never too old to love' and 'The Thatcher Song'. Visit my lyrics page and you'll find them with many more besides. You can also buy many of the original recordings via my CD shop. De Valera is on two albums. There are two versions, the first version was recorded in the mid 80's and is on 'The Thatcher Song' CD. I also get asked occasionally about how and where the cover versions of Dev can be bought. I would suggest that the best version is the one by the Furey's on their 'Winds of change' album. I'd say my second favourite cover of the song is by the Scottish based band 'Athenrye'. Do a Google on them both and I'm sure you'll find lots of places to buy the relevant versions. I've also just launched my Irish Songbook on here, so check out the lyrics of some of your all time favourite Irish Ballads. Some of them are available on a couple of my cover albums too.

Susan McCann album with Sean's Song Ian PaisleyThis new site makes things faster and of course (I think you'll agree) it just looks a lot better. Content wise it's got lots more, including sampler downloads of every track on every album that I have for sale in my online CD shop. I've also joined the blogging brigade which hopefully will generate some feedback from you. There are also lots more of my original lyrics on here compared to the old site. I'm also going to be allowing some FREE MP3 downloads of back catalogue tracks, which will be added over the next few weeks. I'm always pleased to hear from you so don't be shy, drop me a line sometime. 2008 and 2009 were great years for me on radio spins. I was lucky enough to get several plays from my latest album. There were also a few airings for me on BBC regional stations of old tracks of mine from the 80's. I got news that my song about the Falklands War (The Battle of Goose Green) is being used in a forthcoming film on the conflict. 2008 kicked off well with the new compilation CD and video being released by Prism Leisure Ltd including a hit of mine from some time back entitled; 'You're never too old to love'. (See above for link) Hopefully we'll get more good news on cover releases during second half of 2010. Listen to and download FREE MP3 tracks from both of my 'MYSPACE' site as follows: Sean Brady. There are lots of my songs on other people's YOU TUBE sites including this one featuring my song about the REVEREND IAN PAISLEY which was a hit for me in the 1980's. Last time I looked it had been played 29,181 times. I'm not sure who put it on there but whoever you are, thanks! Interestingly, a German Myspace member has written a song of his own based on my 'Drumshanbo Exile'. I'm chuffed to get someone covering anything of mine, no matter who, big or small, it's a great compliment. Years ago there was a bloke in London from who used to get up on stage and sing a couple of my songs in Irish. That tickled me pink too. Check out Mo from Wuppertal! Das ist gut! There are some cover versions of my songs on other Youtube links and one day when I'm feeling less slothful I'll stick a couple more of my own on there.
